Seniors Recreation Council is recognised as the peak body for organisations supporting seniors' involvement in sport and recreation the council is constantly reviewing its strategies to increase the participation of seniors in sport, recreation and associated physical and mental activity. Within the Council’s resource limitations it has directed initiatives towards the areas of participation encouragement, policy development, community leadership promotion and the over fifties potential for community contribution.

Congratulations to the Winners of the 2011 Have a Go Day Photographic Competition

First place was awarded to Leonard Stewart, the prize is an in store voucher to the value of $300.00 supplied by Camera Electronic. The stand out winner captured senior’s square dancing with members from the general public, which represents the essence of the event, people having a go and encouraging others to, give it a go.

The second place winner receives an in store voucher to the value of $150.00 supplied by Camera Electronic and this went to David Pitcher with his photograph featuring, kayaking on the lake.

An honourable mention was awarded to Leonard Stewart for his photograph depicting seniors learning the art of Archery.
