On Wednesday 3rd June 2019 the Brown Park Recreation Centre in Swan View was abuzz with seniors from the Mundaring Shire who attended the SRCWA LiveLighter Activity Information Day.
A lovely fine day saw 110 seniors who took part. A healthy BBQ lunch was supplied by the Shire of Mundaring, cooked by the Swan Districts Lions Club. Seniors were able to Have a Go at air soccer, ball & cup catchers’, bean-bag toss, carpet bowls, exercise dice, mini golf, pole walking’ quoits, seated hockey, shuttle ball, sticky darts, warm up activity, Xbox Kinect and a range of other activities. A wide variety of static displays and information were on offer from Advocare, Apia, Audio Clinic, Bladder & Bowel Health Australia, BreastScreen WA, Cancer Council WA, C Si Bon, Cura In-home Care, Dept of Veterans Affairs, Juniper, Lions Club Mundaring, Mission Australia, Mundaring Bowls Group, Retirees WA, RISE, Seniors Housing Advisory Centre, Dept of Mines, Industry Regulation & Safety, Shire of Mundaring, SRCWA / LiveLighter Healthway, TransWA, and WA Seniors Card Office.
The Midland Mens’ Shed Band “The Shedows” entertained seniors throughout the day with a range of familiar tunes.
SRCWA acknowledges and appreciates its hard-working volunteers, the team from Wooroloo, and the Shire of Mundaring Staff for their support in making this event possible.
