Mission Statement
The mission of the Council, as a Non Government (volunteer driven) organisation is to promote the ethos of Healthy Ageing Through Activity.
Also, in recognition of the high priority of this ever increasing demographic, to influence Local, State and National governments and instrumentalities in the development of practices and policies conducive to encouraging wider participation by older adults (Seniors) in recreational and sporting groups.
Strategic Plan Outline
To achieve this mission the Council will continue to support the development and expansion of existing Seniors recreation and sporting groups, as well as encouraging and supporting the establishment of new groups wishing to provide recreational and sporting opportunities for Seniors.
Over the next three years the Council will develop a state wide network of regional branches with seniors clubs/groups in the region being represented and providing support through a system of advisory boards.
At the same time there will be an emphasis on the need to develop and strengthen the strong alliances already existing with other organisations providing services to Seniors.
There will also be developed a more positive funding arrangement (finance base) for every day operational costs to enable the Council to forward plan into the next decade.
This Three Year Strategic Plan will be fully developed by the Council and progressively monitored/updated each year. Also a comprehensive report of the Councils activities for the year past will be produced annually.
In terms of the specific projects, such as Have A Go Day, Add Life To Your Years, Seniors Impact Days, Seniors Ball and Indoor Bowls Tournament SRC will continue to seek separate and specific sponsorships.
