Richard Dermody, SRCWA Branch Liaison Coordinator and Martin Yates, SRCWA Tech Savvy Seniors Manager, travelled to Merredin to deliver presentations on SRCWA and the Tech Savvy Seniors program as part of the Shire’s Tea and Tech Sessions for seniors in Merredin and surrounding areas.
The aim of the Tea and Tech Sessions is to support seniors in overcoming technology challenges within their remote community. SRCWA was pleased to provide guidance, assistance, and practical advice to all who attended.
Feedback from Shire of Merredin Community Development Officer, Rebekah, and participants was overwhelmingly positive:
“Firstly, Martin and Richard were fantastic. Our seniors engaged very well with them, and the content was presented in a way that was both clear and interesting. I found the presenters to be highly knowledgeable and well prepared for today’s Tea and Tech session. Martin and Richard delivered an amazing experience, and I’ll be recommending them for all future senior sessions here in Merredin.”
While attendance was slightly lower than expected due to some participants being unable to attend for personal reasons, the session itself was a great success, with excellent interaction and thoughtful questions from the audience.
SRCWA is proud to partner with the Shire of Merredin in delivering this valuable service, and we look forward to future sessions. A big thank you to the entire SRCWA team for their wonderful support in making this trip possible.
