Have a Go Day, a LiveLighter Event is an activity/information day for over 50’s, once again presented in the beautiful grounds of Burswood Park, at the event there will be a wide range of information and activities, something for everyone. The Hon Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Creative Industries; Heritage; Industrial Relations; Aged Care and Seniors; Women will officially welcome everyone at 10.30am at the entertainment stage site 107.
There will be a wide variety of activities to have a go at, a few of these are, Seated Volleyball, Disk Bowls, Trishaws for Seniors, Chair Dancing Perth, exercise activities, range of dance activities and more, also remember to keep hydrated at the hospitality tents sponsored by Have a Go News, Phoenix Insurance & Local Guardians providing free tea, coffee & bottled water for participants. The Juniper entertainment stage has a line-up of artists throughout the day these will include, the Rebound RockNRoll Band, Happy Feat, Moyra J Scott, Kevin Bennett Michael Barbara and a variety of other artists, this year the Entertainment Stage is sponsored by Juniper.

LiveLighter Aged Care Games – Rockingham
LiveLighter Aged Care Games, Rockingham, – Thursday 21st August 2025
The SRCWA Rockingham LiveLighter Aged Care Games lit up the Baldivis Recreation Centre, with a vibrant celebration of community, care, and spirited competition. Thanks to our naming rights partner LiveLighter Healthway, the event was a resounding success.
Eight enthusiastic teams participated in a variety of games tailored specifically for seniors in care. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and determination as participants gave it their all.
Dawn Yates, SRCWA Executive Officer, welcomed attendees and introduced City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin, who officially opened the Games. Her support for this unique event was deeply appreciated. The day’s proceedings were hosted by SRCWA State President Colin Steer, who briefed the volunteers, kept the energy high and the schedule flowed. The results were: Third Place: The Royals Bethanie, Second Place: Waters Warriors Bethanie and First Place: The Card Sharks Brightwater
The Best Presented Team Award went to Waters Warriors Bethanie, who wowed everyone with their Viking-themed table and costumes-complete with shields and weapons!
The oldest competitors this year were two 101-year-olds, Margaret Smith from Banksia Park and Elsie Dunn from Waters Warriors Bethanie, their participation was a true inspiration to all. During the lunch break Swing and Sway delivered a very enjoyable floor show. Huge thanks to Ansje and the team for their entertainment. SRCWA extends heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff and volunteers, from Perth and Rockingham, for their tireless efforts in setup, scoring, and pack-down.

LiveLighter Aged Care Games – North Metro (formerly Joondalup)
LiveLighter Aged Care Games, North Metro, Wednesday 3rd September 2025, Kingsway Indoor Stadium.
The 22nd North Metro (formerly Joondalup) LiveLighter Aged Care Games took place on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025 at Kingsway Sports Centre, proudly supported by our naming rights partner, LiveLighter Healthway. The event was a great success, with enthusiastic participation from aged care teams across the North Metro area. For many, these games are a highlight of the year, with facility staff supporting participants through regular training sessions. Cr Nat Herridge, representing the Mayor of the City of Wanneroo, officially opened the games and visited each team, offering encouragement and support. We sincerely thank the City of Wanneroo and Cr Herridge for their support. SRCWA State President Colin Steer hosted the games and briefed the volunteers. ensuring smooth coordination of volunteers and activities-thank you, Colin, for your outstanding leadership. Lunchtime entertainment was provided by Moyra J Scott, whose performance was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Results:- Best Presented Team: RAAFA Red Devils – Vivian Bullwinkle Lodge. 3rd Place: Hamersley Hurricanes – Hall & Prior, 2nd Place: Super Seniors – Umbrella, 1st Place: Ritcher Lodge – Village People. We also celebrated two remarkable centenarian participants: Gwen Hughes (The Anchorage – Silver Foxes) and Marian Nalberski (Super Seniors – Umbrella), both aged 100. SRCWA extends its gratitude to our dedicated volunteers and everyone who contributed to making this event a memorable success.
