The Seniors Recreation Council of WA was delighted to learn of the outstanding work being facilitated and recognised by the SRCWA Wongan Ballidu Branch. Richard Dermody, SRCWA Branch Liaison Coordinator, spoke to the group, congratulating the SRCWA Wongan Ballidu branch on its strong community engagement and commitment to keeping members informed, safe, connected and for being chosen as the winners of the Shire of Wongan Ballidu Comunity Group of the Year for 2026.
SRCWA Project Manager Martin Yates delivered a Scam Awareness Workshop on Tuesday 5th May at the Wongan-Ballidu Seniors Recreation Centre, with 20 community members joining us for an informative and interactive session.
The workshop was full of practical, easy-to-use tips, including:
- How to create strong, safe passwords
- How to recognise common scams
- Ways to feel more confident and secure online
SRCWA Head Office Representatives Martin Yates and Richard Dermody, enjoyed sharing knowledge, answering questions, and having a few laughs along the way while helping attendees build skills to better protect themselves when using digital devices and the internet.
