Albany LiveLighter Aged Games 2022

We had three teams participating this year as one unfortunately, due to Covid, had to pull out. SRCWA State President Phil said it was an unusual opening because we started off the morning with an impromptu line dance with about 20 women dancing to live music with Don and Rhonda.

The Mayor of Albany, Dennis Wellington gave a short speech and then declared the games open. As always each team really did well with some great highlights.
The oldest member was a very spritely man named Arthur 100 almost 101 year old chap who is an ex Fairbridgian. SRCWA State Vice President Graham Bennett was really delighted to make his acquaintance and share some stories from his time at Fairbridge.

Our winning team this year was Albany Community Care Gun Slickers, Second place went to Bethel Dalmatians, with Team CraigCare (first timers) taking out third place.

Bethel Dalmations were declared best presented team by the Mayor
As always the participants were delighted to receive their medals and happy to have the trophy for a year.

Staff and Volunteers were again well represented and we also had assistance from the local Over 55 social group and they were very helpful in setting up and packing down again, thank you for your support.

Thank you to Pat who did an excellent job again at the tea/coffee table.

Don and Rhonda did a great job of entertaining everyone with wonderful songs and finished with a sing along for the participants with songs like It’s a long way to Tipperary, Pack up your troubles … etc.

Albany put on some typical weather where it was drizzling most of the morning but nice and fine when everyone was leaving.
