SCAMS are a growing ever present issue for many older members of our community. Due to the nature of our electronic methods of communication there are many issues people need to be aware of such as updating devices what not to click on and maintaining a healthy level of skepticism. SRCWA Tech Savvy Seniors in partnership with Community and Media Engagement team from Consumer Protection presented to 50 seniors in an effort to raise their level of awareness regarding SCAMS. Held at the Lesley Street Centre in Mandurah for the SRCWA Peel branch the people in attendance expressed they were extremely thankful for the information on offer.
Our thanks to SRCWA PEEL Branch president Jan Mc Glinn OAM and her group of volunteers who set up the event, and to Merinda from Community and Media Engagement Consumer Protection WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety thank you for an informative and enlightening presentation.
SRCWA Acknowledges the support from Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries which make this much needed program possible.
