
Healthy Lifestyles Event, maximise your quality of life
SRCWA in partnership with Dept of Local Government Sport & Cultural Industries and LiveLighter Healthway held a Healthy Lifestyles Event – Maximise your quality of Life at Fairway the Green in Gnangara on Thursday 22nd February 2024.
The event was well attended and enjoyed by participants, static displays & organisers.
The venue was the Fairway the Green Community Centre and it was the perfect venue for this event.
Presentations at the event were from Ashley Merrett, nbnCo who presented on Digital Legacy’s which was very informative and gave all participants lots to think about and the other presentation was by Camera Electronic on enhancing your use of digital cameras. Both presenters were very well received and complimented on their presentations especially as it related to the target audience.
The Static Displays at the event were:- ANZ Bank, Advocare, APIA, Be Connected, Camera Electronic, Council on the Ageing WA, Dept of Health & Aged Care, Diabetes WA, Guardian Safety Pendants, Hearing Australia, Injury Matters, Innogreen Technologies, LiveUP, Northern Suburbs Community Legal, SRCWA & WA Seniors Card.
The morning commenced with morning tea which was followed by the presentations and then participants were invited to visit all the static displays and gather the valuable information that was on offer. Also some of the static displays offered advice and the opportunity to explore how technology could enhance their lives and help them maximise their quality of life. The event concluded with a delicious lunch of sandwiches, hot food and vegetable & fruit platters which were very well received.
Thank you to Graham Bennett SRCWA’s State President and his wife Helena and the team of volunteers from the Green for setting up the venue, assisting with morning tea and lunch and packing it down at the end of the event. Thank you also to SRCWA’s volunteers and staff for facilitating this event and managing the event.

LiveLighter Seniors Activity Information Day – Corrigin 22nd March 2024
55 active seniors attended the LiveLighter Seniors Activity -Information Day sponsored by our naming rights partner LiveLighter Healthway and organised by SRCWA in partnership with the Corrigin Resource Centre and supported by Shire of Corrigin. This event showcased agencies who shared their information and services via static displays with a wide variety of information for seniors. Thank you to all the agencies that provided information for this event and to those who were able to attend and advice the seniors in attendance. These days also provide seniors the opportunity to have a go at a variety of activities. The group of seniors at this event were very active and engaging trying their hand at, Pole Walking, Soft Archery, Hover Soccer, seated Hockey, carpet golf to name a few. After a morning of activities and information gathering participants were treated to a delicious lunch of chicken, salads, hot food, fruit & cakes. Thank you to Corrigin Resource Centre and SRCWA’s hard working volunteers for making this day a success.

SRCWA ROCKINGHAM BRANCH, HAVE A GO DAY, a LiveLighter Event
On Wednesday 1st May 2024, Seniors Recreation Council of WA’s Rockingham Branch is conducting a Have a Go Day at the Mike Barnett Sports Center, Cnr Dixon Road and Goddard Street, Rockingham – 10am to 2pm.
This FREE event will showcase club/groups, Not for Profit agencies and Commercial entities who have a Senior focus from Rockingham and surrounding areas, it gives to opportunity to site holders to provide valuable information and increase membership.
There will be a wide variety of activities to “Have a Go” including carpet bowls, seated hockey, pole walking, bean bag toss, air soccer, and many more last included will be many static displays.
Tea, Coffee and Bottled water will be available at the hospitality area and food will be available for purchase.
Come along to gather senior specific information from clubs/groups, community organisations and businesses
