The SRCWA Annual General Meeting was held on 29th September 2021, State President Phil Paddon welcomed everyone to the meeting, a minute silence was held in remembrance of the passing of Hugh Rogers and Christine Mullendar in 2021. Phil then spoke about the history of SRCWA and acknowledged the huge input that Hugh had contributed during his 29 years with SRCWA. Phil then handed over to SRCWA Executive Officer Dawn Yates to open the meeting and address those in attendance. Dawn thanked all the volunteers for their dedication to the organisation and for the hours of work they all do on behalf of SRCWA, she also thanked the Wooroloo Trustees who help out a numerous events, and welcomed representatives from the SRCWA Branches.
Phil Paddon was elected to the position of State President for a further three years, Graham Bennett was elected to the position of Vice President for a further two years, Colin Steer was elected to the position of Treasurer for two years and Jan McGlinn was elected to the position of Branch President Representative for a further two years.
Congratulations to Phil, Graham, Colin and Jan on your elections. The annual reports were well received and congratulations were given to all those who worked so hard during the year. The meeting was then closed to be followed by Lunch
Our guest speaker for the AGM Professor Jo Barker gave an enlightening presentation on “Choices in Ageing” which was enjoyed by all. Copies of Professor Jo Barker’s talk were made available to all those in attendance.
