Have a Go Day a LiveLighter Event Rockingham Wednesday 1st May 2024

The 2024 Rockingham Have a Go Day a LiveLighter Event was held on Wednesday 1st May and was a very successful event for seniors who were treated to a lovely day out. This was the at 12th Rockingham Have a Go Day, a LiveLighter Event which was held at the Mike Barnette Sports Complex in Rockingham. There were more than 75 sites and activities spread across the main hall showcasing Seniors’ Clubs, Groups, Agencies and Businesses from the Rockingham and surrounding areas.
The Official Opening commenced at 10.00am with an introduction by SRCWA State President Graham Bennett, who introduced Cr Dawn Jecks, City of  Rockingham who officially opened the day.
Activities and entertainment included, Swing n’ Sway dance group, Square Dance Society, Handbells in Peel, Ukulele Group, Indoor Bowls, Hart Sports Equipment, Quoits, Game of Bob, Seated Hover Soccer, Carpet Golf and Walking Football.
Thanks to the SRCWA Head Office and the team of volunteers assisting with the event, especially our tea ladies who supplied the free tea, coffee and bottled water also distributed sandwiches to the static displays, the day was enjoyed by all.  Also a huge thank you to the team of guys who came from Wooroloo Prison Farm who assisted with the set up, and pack down and throughout the day. Thank you to all the SRCWA volunteers and the local Clubs and Groups who’s hard work was invaluable in making this a great event. Thank you also to Cockburn Party Hire for their assistance at the event. Thank you to SRCWA photographers Martin Yates for capturing the event.

LiveLighter Seniors Activity/Information Day Monday 13th May 2024 – Leederville

Around 110 participants attended the LiveLighter Seniors Activity -Information Day sponsored by our naming rights partner LiveLighter Healthway and organised by SRCWA in partnership with the City of Vincent. This event showcased agencies who shared their information and services via static displays with a wide variety of information for seniors. Thanks to Advocare, APIA, Audika, City of Vincent – Library, Council on the Ageing WA, Cricut, Diabetes WA, First Aid Kits WA, Injury Matters, Innogreen Tech, Meningitis Centre, Plus Fitness North Perth, Rapport Holistic Home Care, Seniors Recreation Council/LiveLighter, Uniting WA Financial Wellbeing Svc, WA Seniors Card and Stroke Foundation for your support. These days also provide seniors the opportunity to have a go at a variety of activities. The group of seniors at this event were very active and engaging trying their hand at, Pole Walking, Soft Archery, beanbag toss and Hover Soccer to name a few.  After a morning of activities and information gathering participants were treated to a healthy lunch of sandwiches, hot food, fruit & muffins.

Healthy Lifestyles/Tech Savvy Seniors Event, 17th July 2024

Seniors Recreation Council of WA in partnership with Town of Cambridge is conducting a FREE Healthy Lifestyles/Tech Savvy Seniors Event on Wednesday 17th July 2024 at the Boulevard Centre, 99 The Boulevard Floreat, 10am to 1pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. At the event there will be a range of static displays and SCAMS presentations featured. Also if time permits some light activities may be available including Pole Walking.
Registration is essential for this event for catering purposes, register by calling 6118 2716 or emailing dawn.yates@srcwa.asn.au. Registration for Static Displays and Participants is required.
