Serpentine – Jarrahdale Healthy Lifestyle a Event

A big thankyou to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for partnering with SRCWA to present the Healthy Lifestyles TSS Event on Friday 5th July 2024.  SRCWA thanks and acknowledges the support from LiveLighter Healthway, Have a Go News, NBN and Government of Western Australia.  The day was enjoyed by all those in attendance who were able to take part in a variety of activities and gather information from our static displays:

Zumba Gold and Serpentine Jarrahdale Keep Fit groups had seniors joining in to dancing and fitness classes, thank you to these groups and leaders for getting everyone warmed up.

An informative short presentation by Martin from SRCWA Tech Savvy Seniors –highlighted the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in SCAMS and how voices can be replicated to fool people into believing they are talking with someone they know.  If you are sending money to loved ones, it may be wise to have a pass phrase only you and your loved one share before committing to sending funds to them.

Justine Esmonde Community Engagement Specialist – nbn local – South East WA provided an enlightening and interesting talk on Digital Legacies.  Digital Legacies is important for all generations it is your personal identity across many platforms online and in day-to-day life … it can include Social Media Accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), Email accounts, Bank or Investment Accounts and Cloud storage accounts containing personal files or Customer Accounts on sites like Amazon or eBay, and even Streaming services.  Having a register of these “Digital Assets” including username, site and password makes life much easier for those who administer our estate. Make sure a trusted family member or friend knows where to find this list and it is updated regularly.
