
The SRCWA Annual General Meeting took place on 24th September 2025, and it was a warm and welcoming event. State President Colin Steer opened the meeting with heartfelt words, sharing the rich history of SRCWA and acknowledging the incredible work carried out by the organisation over the past year.
Colin then invited SRCWA Executive Officer Dawn Yates to officially open the meeting. Dawn warmly welcomed representatives from SRCWA Branches, thanked and acknowledged our major sponsors and supporters Government of WA, Healthway LiveLighter, Have a Go News, Burswood Park Board and LotteryWest and expressed sincere gratitude to all the volunteers for their dedication, time, and energy in supporting SRCWA’s programs and events. A special thank you was also extended to the Wooroloo Trustees for their invaluable assistance throughout the year.
A presentation highlighted the positive impact SRCWA Accredited Volunteers have made in the Western Australian Seniors Community, showcasing the meaningful contributions and benefits of their work.

The 2024/2025 Annual Report was presented and warmly received, with thanks given to the office staff for their efforts in compiling such a comprehensive and well-crafted document.
Our guest speaker, Bianca Marson Whait from Advocare, delivered an insightful presentation on the services Advocare provides as the WA Seniors Peak. Her talk covered a wide range of important topics, including:

Systemic & Emerging Issues – Responding to new challenges affecting seniors’ quality of life.
The meeting concluded with a delicious and healthy lunch, enjoyed by all.
