Seniors Recreation Council of WA Inc.

Volunteer Leaders Required Pinjarra & Mandurah areas

Seniors Recreation Council of WA Inc. a Non-Government, Volunteer driven organization have coordinated special exercises for seniors who have mobility issues. The Strong on Your Feet Program has been highly successful, running since 2012, with ten classes now held weekly for seniors over the age of 50 years at various venues within the Peel Region. Twenty seniors participate in class with two volunteer Peer Leaders. This year we have three long standing Peer Leaders leaving, one from Mandurah, Pinjarra and Lakelands areas because of changed family circumstances and this necessitates the need to train more leaders so these vital exercise classes can continue.
If you are reasonably fit and Healthy and would like a satisfying volunteer role as a Peer Leader of an Exercise Mobility Falls Prevention Program, we would like to hear from you.
Peer Leader Training is provided by Mandurah Community Health Physiotherapists and mentoring by our current volunteer Peer Leaders. Mandatory assessments is done either six or twelve monthly for all Volunteer Peer Leaders and social events organized for volunteers to get together throughout the year.
