SRCWA LiveLighter Aged Care Games Return to Rockingham

Best presented team The Royal Court play Pass Ball and Winners “The Happy Hipsters” (Villa Dalmacia Aged Care).

After not being able to run the 2020 LiveLighter Aged Care Games due to COVID, the amazing efforts of the WA Government and General Community enabled SRCWA to run the  “SRCWA Rockingham LiveLighter Aged Care Games 2021”.  The Games were held at the Baldivis Recreation Centre off Fifty Road on Thursday 26th August. Despite the inclement weather, seven teams enthusiastically took part in a range of games developed specifically for seniors who may require care.

Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels welcomed all participants to the games and officially declared the 2021 SRCWA Rockingham LiveLighter Aged Care Games open. Thank you, Barry, for your support of this unique fun event for seniors.

After 4 hours of fierce competition, third place went to “The Royal Court” (Silver Chain Fremantle Social Centre), Second place going to “The Italian Stallions ” (Italian Village Fremantle) and first place was taken out by “The Happy Hipsters” (Villa Dalmacia Aged Care).

The best presented team award went to “The Royal Court” (Silver Chain Fremantle Social Centre) dressed as Kings and Queens. This year our oldest competitor,  shared by two 99 years young competitors Maxine Campbell (Aegis Shoalwater) and Olga Tuckfield (Southern Plus East Fremantle).  The participants were treated to a dance show performed by Swing and Sway at the lunch break, thank you Swing and Sway for a most enjoyable performance. SRCWA thanks and acknowledges the hard work by the SRCWA Rockingham Branch committee and volunteers,  SRCWA State volunteers and staff and those who helped to make this event so enjoyable for the participants and such a great success.
